Join the 2018 Isle of Wight Walking Festival and take part in one of the UK’s longest running walking festivals.Discover unique routes with experienced local walkers and enjoy an extensive walks programme that includes walks with titles such as ‘Ups and Downs’, ‘Beach Bugs and Bones’ and ‘Getting Bogged Down’ , The popular Isle of Wight Challenge and fundraiser Mounbatten’s Walk the Wight also form part of the festival.Its white light and red lights isophase every 10 seconds and can be seen for 15 nautical miles. Halfway through first field is a medieval wayside cross, known as the 'Trevilley Cross'.The Tithe Map refers to the field as 'Park an Grouse' ('Field of the Cross').The lighthouse was manned by four men, two of whom were on duty at any one time, working one month at a stretch.
Land's End Moderate - Some rugged stretches of Coast Path and inland footpaths through fields that may be muddy, with plenty of ups and downs.
